Bolton Wanderers relegated to League 1
16 years after Jay-Jay Okocho danced on the pitch with a fat man as they celebrated our relegation from the Premier League

They are now being taken over by a twice bankrupt former Watford owner who was previously banned from all football activities for 3 years due to alleged financial misdemeanours

As much as I hate them, I wouldn't want them or any club to go bust.

There's so much doe in football, it fucks me off clubs get into these situations and can be easily avoided.

2003 still haunts me. That fucking match we lost up at their place. Fuck, we were useless that day.

As we stumbled towards relegation in 2011 under Uncle Avram they easily beat us 3-0 I think at the Reebok/Macron whatever it's called.

They were larging it and singing "we'll never play you again".

I hope that turns out to be true, fuck 'em.

Bolton can't afford a ÂŁ1.2m tax bill.

There's probably a few premier league 'stars' that earn that in a month.

I fucking hate modern football

"Bolton Wanderers are set to go into administration after the club appeared in the High Court over a Ł1.2m unpaid tax bill.

The case on Wednesday was adjourned until 22 May to allow the club enough time to appoint an administrator.

Administration would result in Wanderers having a 12-point penalty imposed on them next season"

Good. Cunts.

It would be nice if the FA presented us with the 1923 FA Cup before the Southampton game.
We could unveil the 1923 panel on the stand next to 1964 at the same time

Results wiped, does that mean we didn't get relegated a few seasons ago?

Re: Bolton Wanderers relegated to League 1
The players still haven’t received their March salaries so have gone on strike.

I THINK their results against Millwall & Rotherham were identical so no joy there.
Not sure about their results v Sheff U & Leeds.
Expect the PFA / Football League will pay them up to the last game to get the season done.

I was hoping for a reply of the 1923 Cup Final.

The crowd blatantly kept the ball in play for their second goal, thus stopping our otherwise inevitable comeback.

I blame a Far Eastern betting syndicate based in Norwich - did anyone count how many six-fingered spectators there were?

Gary ... now that would be fun! Obviously this season only but if they do go out of the business it will be a change to an interesting football trivia question .... Bolton currently are the team who have played the most seasons in top tier (Old Div 1 or current Premier League) without ever winning the League Title. If they fold, the team with the most seasons without ever winning the title is ... West Ham !

Update ... Bolton can’t pay their players and tomorrow’s game called off. If they fail to complete their fixtures they are likely to be thrown out of Football League and all their results wiped from the records - could have an impact on final table

Makes you think of where we would be if the likes of the owners of Bolton, Ipswich, Leeds etc had owned WHU in the last, say, ten years.

I know it might be thought of as heresy on here but with other owners we might well have been way down the food chain.

The Championship title race is more interesting and more important than the Premier League one

Much more even league with no billionaires playing paupers.
Classic Championship yesterday with Leeds beaten at home by a team in the bottom 5 with 10 men.
And Norwich needing a 97th min equaliser at home to Sheff Wed

Re: Bolton Wanderers relegated to League 1
I sometimes enjoy watching football more than the top divison and that includes local non league sides, but this to me just shows how vitally important getting back up when relegated is.

When you look down you see so many ex top flight teams and I am not even talking about a few season wonders like Swindon or Barnsley. I mean clubs who had long established stays, Bolton is an example, like them or loathe them, they were in the Premier League for 11 straight seasons. That is before you mention much bigger clubs like Leeds and Nottingham Forest. I think Leeds will come up this year and if they do it will be the first time back in the top flight since 2004.

I dread to think where West Ham would have ended up had we of lost the playoff final for a second year running under Pardew.
